Had their scallops as an appetizer and the short ribs as a main, both tasted great. The short rib was listed as mildly spicy, I certainly didn't feel overwhelmed by spice, I think I even forgot it was meant to be spicy to any degree. We came in no reservation and had to sit at the bar. They get very busy on a weekday which might explain why bartender was little pushy, trying to order and close us out.

Here's what to order: Appetizer: 1. Leaf wrapped bite size appetizer (A MUST!) so unique and flavorful) 2. Scallop skewers (A MUST!) soo flavorful and not mentioned enough in the reviews 3. Curry puffs Entree: 1. Panang Curry Thai tea was in the bitter side so you know it's authentic. Location is amazing since it's next to all the little shops and cafes. A few streets away from K-town too! Wait was 30 minutes on Saturday at 5:15pm and they will txt you when you're next. The decor, food and service was a 10/10. Their menus is extensive but I promise the items above are some of their best work!

Came to the establishment to celebrate my brother's birthday. Probably some of the best Thai food I have eaten. Everything tasted amazing and I was very attentive. You do have a time limit of 1.5 hours for seating .

Conveniently close to Union Square, @thaivillanyc has really beautiful interior and nice service. Lots of food to choose from. You can get either street food style entree per person or bigger dishes for the table to share!

Thai Villa is one of the tastiest, most beautiful restaurants I've been to. The decorations are stunning and the vibe is great for dates, casual dinners, and everything in between. We made a reservation so we were seated right when we got there. The menu is expansive but detailed so we knew what was in each dish. The leaf-wrapped appetizer (not pictured) is a must-order -- so pretty and unique and delicious. All of the dishes that we got were packed with flavor and spices. The larb gai salad was a bit of a disappointment, though, because it was a bit too salty and there didn't seem to be a lot of meat. The prices are a bit higher than average but the quality is worth it.

We were a group of 4 and went for a dinner on a Wednesday. The place was pretty full and busy. We ordered a couple of drinks and for the appetizers did the shrimp cake, papaya salad and spring rolls. We loved the shrimp cake - it was bursting with flavor. For main course we did the drunken noodles, Panang curry and basil Thai friend rice. The drunken noodles was out of the world! Definitely going back when we visit NY again!

Thai Villa's interior is just as stunning as I remember it. I first discovered Thai Villa over a decade ago. I think maybe it really has not changed/updated but, really, there is no need to. There are all these small chandeliers, little lamps, and golden leaves hanging from the ceiling, it is just gorgeous. The food is a slam dunk, too! I have always enjoyed their kee mao/pad thai, especially when taking in the decor. Their new wings were a little more iffy though. Service is just as quick and attentive as ever! Try to get a reservation though, they are more busy than I remember even with the pandemic era outdoor seating (which does not live up to interior decor). Also, try to get interior reservations, of course. Did I mention the decor yet?

We were so lucky that they had a table available if we came soon on a Saturday. It might've helped that it was an early ish dinner around 6pm. And we felt like we had the best seat in the house on the top floor overlooking the whole downstairs and decorations. Everything we got was vegetarian. Dumplings were not great in my opinion. Eggplant basil was pretty good, but the red curry was my favorite. The sauce was addicting! Even though we said mild to medium, the food was pretty spicy. I would tell them specifically mild spice when they ask because they probably have a a high spice baseline for their foods. But if you can handle it, go for it! Although the portions look small when they come out, surprisingly it was enough for the 3 of us, and we felt full without overdoing it. For dessert, we got the Banana Crepe which is eggless and likely made fresh, and my mom loved it!! We might have to come again just for that Banana Crepe!

Stopped by for lunch on a Saturday with my sister! Even though we didn't have a reservation, we easily got seated at the bar around noon. We got the chicken wings, per ron (deep fried duck), Thai iced coffee, and pad thai. Everything was delicious, and the chicken Wings were especially good. It was a little crowded and a little loud, but service was very fast and efficient.
